Baby Shower Gift

Chew Beads
I'm going to a baby shower this weekend and where were these when I had my babies??  They're cute, and  safe for baby to tug on and chew on!  Back then (all of 5 years ago...) chunky necklaces were "in" and several were broken by my little darlings.  Such a cute idea!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Image and recipe from Picky Palate
I have been wanting to try this recipe ever since I saw it on Pinterest.  The kids "helped" and we made them yesterday.  They are GINORMOUS!  They would be great for a party or bake sale.

After making several, we used the rest of the batter for regular, ol' chocolate chip cookies and this will be my new favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!  They are easy, beautiful and tasty!

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 Cup packed light brown sugar
1 Cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 bag Oreo Cookies, I used the double stuff :)

     1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.   In a stand or electric mixer cream butter and sugars until well combined.  Add in eggs and vanilla until well combined.

2.     In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.  Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie.  Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo Cookie.  Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo Cookie is enclosed with dough.

3.     Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until cookies are baked to your liking.  Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.  Serve with a tall glass of milk, enjoy!

Makes about 2 dozen VERY LARGE Cookies

Clean Up, Clean Up

I love knowing what works for other people, and when I find something that works for me, I want to share!

My all-time favorite, cannot live without is my Swiffer-Vac.  Love it!

Shark Steam Mop
I bought this inexpensive ($40) steam mop last week and I like it MUCH better than traditional mopping.  I've read some reviews that say it is no quicker than mopping but I like the process better and I love the way the floors feel afterwards!  I "steamed" while the kids were at school and Mary Fowler asked why the floors felt so smooth!  I used it on all the hardwood and bathroom tile floors.

Terro Ant Killer
With these crazy-warm temperatures, a few weeks ago we had some little ant visitors.  Just every once in a while I would find a couple on the counter- yuk!  So after trying some different things, one of my girlfriends recommended this brand and it worked!

And finally, one of my favorite cleaning tips is to keep one spray bottle of cleaner and a roll of paper towels in each bathroom and spray down the mirror, sink, and counter after showering.  If it's right there and handy, I tend not to put off doing it.  Sad, but true.
